Folio's Portfolio
Drawings
My drawings are usually completed on either loose cardstock or sketch paper, and often depict the human figure or portrait. My drawings seek to balance expression with a sense of realism along with a strong emotional element.
I am greatly inspired by gesture drawing, the human figure, photography, Hellenistic statues, religious imagery, Baroque art, music, literature, and basketball when creating these drawings or choosing subject matter to render

Guardian Angel, 2023
8.5x11 graphite on cardstock
One of if not my favorite piece rendering figures in pencil I have created.
The drawing is inspired by the religious sentiment of a guardian angel assisting one struggling in whatever turmoil.
An aesthetic commentary on support, mental or physical illness, and negative emotions that may plague people.
Two figures soon to be in union one flying down to aid the other from sickness. A real guardian angel in the flesh rather in pencil.

Duomo di Milano, 2024
8.5x11 graphite on cardstock
Inspired by the statue of a martyr. While the martyr is unknown so is the physical appearance of definable facial features in the drawing.
While the act of martyrdom may inspire or evoke awe, so does the physique and rendering of the figure here.
